How to protect your baby from the sun while on holiday (without suncream)

Heading off on a sunny holiday with your tiny tot in tow? While soaking up the sun is all well and good for you, it's important to remember that your baby's delicate skin needs extra protection and they need to stay shaded. Here are some tips to keep your baby protected from the sun during the summer:

1. Cover Up, Buttercup!

One of the easiest ways to protect your baby from the sun is to dress them in lightweight, long-sleeved clothing. Think cute little sun hats, flowy cover-ups, and stylish sunglasses (yes, babies can rock shades too!). Not only will your baby look adorable, but they'll also be shielded from harmful UV rays.

2. Seek Shade Like Your Baby's a Celeb

When you're out and about in the sun, make sure to seek out shady spots to hang out in. Whether it's under a beach umbrella, a leafy tree, or a fancy cabana, finding shade is key to keeping your baby cool and protected. Plus, who doesn't love a little siesta in the shade?

3. Bring a Pram Sun Cover!

Bring one of our pram sun covers to shade your baby from 98% of UVA and UVB rays so that your baby is protected, wherever you are!

4. Timing is Everything

When planning your day in the sun, try to avoid peak sun hours between 10 am and 4 pm. Instead, opt for early morning or late afternoon outings when the sun's rays are less intense. This way, you can still enjoy the sunshine without putting your baby at risk of sunburn.

5. Stay Hydrated, Baby!

Just like you, your baby needs to stay hydrated in the sun. Make sure to offer plenty of fluids throughout the day, whether it's breast milk, formula, or water (if your baby is old enough). Keeping your little one hydrated will help them stay cool and comfortable in the heat.

By following these sun protection tips, you can ensure that your baby stays safe and shady while on holiday. So pack those sun hats, grab the sunscreen, and get ready for some fun in the sun with your little sunshine!
